Some of my happiest times are spent with a needle in my hand. The feel of stitching with fabrics and threads I have dyed myself gives me a sense of satisfaction like no other.
Practicing a skill almost as old as civilization itself, I feel a kinship with generations of women who have used fiber and stitch to enhance their lives. It began out of necessity and progressed to providing comfort and beauty, and even social commentary in times when their only means of expression was through their art.
My goal is to instill in the viewer the appreciation that I have for this age old practice which has enriched us from our earliest days on the planet.
